Cleaning your Aeropress Coffee Maker
To maximize seal life, always eject the used coffee right after brewing and store your AeroPress coffee maker with the seal pushed all the way through the chamber. This keeps the seal free of compression for longer seal life. There is no adhesive on the seal, so you can easily remove it and then replace it on the AeroPress plunger.
For day to day use, a simple rinse is sufficient because the plunger wipes the chamber clean as you brew. However, you can wash AeroPress coffee makers in the dishwasher (top rack only). We recommend occasionally removing the seal from the end of the plunger for a good washing inside and out with warm water and dish soap. If your chamber ever gets sticky, wash it with vinegar.
What is an Aeropress Coffee Maker?
The AeroPress Coffee Maker uses gentle air pressure which creates a smooth rich flavour with lower acidity and without bitterness.
Other coffee makers drip hot water on to a bed of ground coffee which results in over extracting at the centre and under extracting the flavour from the edges, but the AeroPress brewing system results in uniform extraction for the ultimate in full coffee flavour.
The AeroPress comes with full instructions for use, just add your coffee grinds and water!

How to use an Aeropress Coffee Maker
The Aeropress Coffee Maker is very easy to use. In fact there’s a few ways to brew, but here’s one of the simplest approaches:
- Boil filtered water in a kettle and set aside for 30 seconds to allow it to cool off the boil.
- Put your paper filter in the plastic filter and soak it with warm water. Be careful not to scald yourself.
- Attach the filter to the bottom half of your AeroPress. Place this over your mug.
- Fill the Aeropress scoop with fine-grind coffee – approximately 12g worth of coffee.
- Pour roughly 200ml of your boiled water into the bottom half of your AeroPress.
- Stir your water and the grind, then pop the lid on and wait for 1-2 minutes (depending on how strong you like it).
- When you’ve given the coffee enough time to extract, gently push down on the lid of your AeroPress until you hear a hissing sound. This signals that there’s no more coffee to come out.
Finally, add some milk if you like your coffee milky, then grab some chocolate, sit down, put your feet up and enjoy your coffee.
Eco Friendly & No Waste
With the AeroPress, you are reducing energy consumption through manual brewing. Although you’ll still need to heat water in a kettle, the energy consumption is much less than running a coffee maker.
The AeroPress paper filters are compostable and can be used multiple times with a simple rinse. Even your coffee grinds can be used for some delicious soil in your garden!
Ready in 30 seconds!
Actual press time is just 20 seconds.
The AeroPress Coffee Maker is eco-friendly, with the only waste being the paper filter and coffee puck. Cleaning is super easy, so you’ll spend less time faffing, more time sipping.
Lightweight & portable
Lightweight, robust and travels well. Loved by hill-walkers, explorers and cyclists.
Aeropress: FAQs
What grind size should I use for the Aeropress?
For the best brewing experience, use a medium-fine grind size, shake to level the bed of coffee grounds before pouring in the water, and pour the water slowly. Within the Mhor Coffee range, our Fine Grind is ground to be used in an Aeropress.
How much coffee can the AeroPress make in one press?
The AeroPress can brew with one pressing roughly three to four servings of espresso style concentrate. You can enjoy a serving as espresso or add water or milk to create an 8 oz. coffee or latte.
What’s the difference between the Aeropress and the AeroPress Go?
The AeroPress Original (which some just call “the AeroPress”) and the AeroPress Go both work in a similar way, but have some big differences. Most importantly, the AeroPress Go is optimized for work, travel and the outdoors because it’s designed for everything to pack up neatly in the included travel mug.
